We understand that you’re tasked with simplifying cloud management, maintaining governance, and seamlessly scaling your infrastructure throughout the school year. The CloudHealth platform will help you improve the student experience by optimizing your cloud infrastructure, whether you support a higher education institution, K-12 & primary school, or educational technology (EdTech) organization.
DRIVE OPTIMIZATION WITH CLOUD MANAGEMENT
"Using CloudHealth has given value on two counts: cost and visibility. It allows us to see where we’re wasting money, and optimizes RI purchases so we’re never underutilized."
—Jeff Julander, Sr. Systems Administrator, Instructure
IVY LEAGUE UNIVERSITY GAINS CLOUD CONTROL WITH CLOUDHEALTH
“I need to balance keeping infrastructure costs under control, while also meeting the growing needs of students and faculty” said the Director of IT at an Ivy League University. On top of this, the university has high standards of excellence, and the executive staff want the best of everything -- the best faculty, the best students, the best academic resources, and the best cloud service management solution for the IT department. CloudHealth enables the Director of IT to optimize the university’s cloud expenses by providing visibility into costs by department, identifying underutilized resources, and automating infrastructure management.
A PUBLIC SCHOOL RAISES THE BAR ON VISIBILITY WITH CLOUDHEALTH
“It’s my responsibility to oversee the funding of school programs, the payment of faculty, the purchase of learning materials, and more, all on a lean budget,” said the Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations of a Large Public School District. With a school system responsible for students K-12, the Assistant Superintendent turned to CloudHealth to give her and her team the critical visibility they needed to manage their hybrid cloud infrastructure. Thanks to CloudHealth Perspectives, the Assistant Superintendent is able to analyze costs across departments, and identify areas for optimization. She is also able to align with the school system’s initiative to migrate additional workloads to the cloud by leveraging the CloudHealth Migration Assessment.
CLOUDHEALTH MAKES CLOUD MANAGEMENT SMARTER. INSTRUCTURE MAKES PEOPLE SMARTER.
“Our workloads tend to change with the school year, so the summer months are quieter. During the semester, workloads can easily fluctuate by two or three thousand servers in a day” said Jeff Julander, Sr. Systems Administrator at Instructure. Instructure’s mission is to make software that makes smarter people. Kevin Blackham, Sr. Systems Architect, and Jeff Julander, Sr. Systems Administrator, are highly involved with managing Instructure’s AWS environment. They regularly meet with Finance to strategically analyze cloud spend, and together they identified the need for a solution that could provide enhanced visibility and improve cost management as Instructure’s cloud infrastructure fluctuates with the school year. Kevin and Jeff initially adopted CloudHealth for cost and resource utilization reporting, as well as Reserved Instance management, and have since begun leveraging governance policies to streamline Instructure’s environment. Now, instead of spending time managing their cloud, Instructure can focus on improving the student learning experience through their born-in-the-cloud products.
